TOM HYDE, DC, CCSP
Welcome to the first edition of the revised
quarterly FICS News which will come to you at the end of March, June,
September and December. It is my honor to be appointed Editor.
This issue focuses on the recent restructuring of FICS. However, from the next issue onwards there will be important sections with news from:
- FICS Commissions
- Member NCSCs/countries
- Colleges and students sportscouncils
In May 2007, leaders from around the world with a keen interest in treating athletes meet in Portugal during the WFC Biennial Congress. Over the years, it had become apparent that while FICS was agood organization, it was time tomake somevery much needed suggestions for change. As you will see by the information contained within this Newsletter, those voices were heard and changes have been made and will continue to be make, all in the interest of sports chiropractic. I would like to applaud all those who helped make this even a success.
I would like to strongly urge each of you to take an active roll in your region. Please participate by sending us news from your region and attending the upcoming FICS GA in concert with the WFC Biannual meeting in Montreal, Canada in April of 2008. You have a chance to make a difference, please takethis opportunity to do so.
Please let us have your news to share with sports chiropractors and others around the world. This should be sent in electronic format – short articles, photos and attachments where there is more detailed information you need to send – to me at:
thyde444@bellsouth.net .
